Sustainability That Tastes GOOD
Triple Bottom Line Chocolate: People, Planet, Profit in Perfect Harmony
Our Triple Bottom Line Approach
People
Creating meaningful employment for neurodiverse adults while ensuring fair wages for cacao farmers. We believe that when people are valued and paid fairly, you can taste the difference in quality and dedication.

Planet
From organic, fair-trade sourcing to backyard-compostable packaging, every decision considers environmental impact. We preserve the natural nutrients of cacao beans while protecting the ecosystems that produce them.
Profit
Sustainable business practices create long-term value. Our commitment to quality and ethics has built customer loyalty and market success, proving that doing good is good business.

Our Measurable Impact

How We Practice Sustainability
🌱 Ethical Sourcing
We source premium Criollo cacao beans from Ecuador and Peru through transparent, fair-trade relationships. We know our farmers personally and ensure they receive fair compensation for their exceptional work.
♻️ Compostable Packaging
Our packaging is certified backyard compostable within 60 days. We spent over a year researching alternatives to ensure minimal environmental impact, even if discarded improperly.
🏭 Clean Processing
We preserve the natural nutrients of cacao beans through minimal processing, with no alkalizing and no unnecessary additives. Just pure, craft chocolate that maintains the bean’s natural health benefits.
🤝 Inclusive Employment
We create meaningful employment opportunities for adults on the autism spectrum, working with PASS and PAFN to match roles with individual strengths and interests.
🌲 FSC-Certified Materials
Our outer packaging uses FSC-certified cardboard from sustainably managed forests, ensuring responsible forestry practices throughout our supply chain.
🏪 Local Community Focus
We source locally when possible, including hazelnuts from Fraser Valley farms, building relationships with producers we can visit and verify their sustainable practices.

“
“Without cacao farmers, I could not do what I do. I want to make sure they have a good life so they can continue doing what they’re doing with the quality that I love. When you don’t feel valued in your work, the quality goes down. But when people are paid fairly and feel appreciated, you can taste the difference.”

A Sustainable Business in All Aspects
At The GOOD Chocolatier, sustainability means more than just eco-friendly packaging, it’s embedded in everything we do. From ethical sourcing and inclusive employment to ingredient transparency and thoughtful packaging, we take a holistic approach to doing good.
If you’re familiar with B Corporation standards, you’ll recognize many of the same values in how we operate: responsible governance, fair labour practices, community impact, and environmental stewardship. While we’re not B Corp certified, we believe in, and work towards the same kind of positive impact.
