At The Good Chocolatier, we like to shape our chocolate company just like we create our treats…good and healthy for our customers to enjoy without guilt.
What Makes Us A Social Enterprise?
Our goals for fairly traded, organic chocolate go beyond a delicious taste in the mouth (although it makes us very happy to hear you say YUM!). We are built upon three fundamental pillars:
Working alongside the PALS Autism Society, we provide employment for those who have never been able to reap the benefits of paid employment before. Since June 2018, we’ve hired a number of the PALS community to help wrap and label our chocolates and send them on their way to our chocolatier community. It’s the S.O.P…Sustainable, organic, plant-based!
We don’t just go to any old shop and buy products with the label ‘organic’ for our chocolate ingredients. We personally visit each place where the products are produced and find companies that align with our core values.
That’s because we don’t just want to meet minimum requirements so that we may ‘fit in the market’, we want to make sure all our processes are ethical and everyone involved is paid fairly.
No artificial colours, no artificial flavours, and no animals or people harmed in the making: that’s the motto we live by to become a leading chocolate company in Vancouver.
You’ve heard it before…plastic kills our ecosystems, and we want to own the responsibility as distributors to ensure best practices for every process which creates our chocolicious products. How?
Our wrapping may look like plastic from the outside, but it’s actually made from sugarcane (surprise!). There are many new ‘plastics’ being released using materials like cornstarch, however, did you know that if they are not organic, they still negatively impact our environment? That’s why we ensure all our packaging can be recycled, including the outside labels which are paper-based.

Social Enterprise is the new Chocolate Fondue! Everyone can share, it’s fun to participate and you can wash up the pot afterwards to be used again the next time!
